Callum Baxter wins bronze!
26 June 2009
Congratulations to Callum Baxter S4 on winning a bronze medal in the 400 metres freestyle in a personal best time of 4.14 minutes at the International Children’s Games in Athens, Greece.
It was an outstanding swim to complete a fantastic competition for Callum at his first overseas competition. I asked Callum how he would sum up his experience and he replied “It was great, I really enjoyed it…. but it wasn’t really sunny!”

Friday was a great day with the swimmers supporting each other and showing the great team spirit within the programme. I know that the staff members who attended were proud to see the swimmers conduct themselves in such a professional manner.
The Scottish Schools Team Championships is an annual team event and I look forward to the challenge next year.

Scottish Schools Finals - 26 January 2008
Congratulations to all swimmers who contributed to the School’s best show at the Scottish Schools Swimming Championships held at Tollcross Leisure Centre on 26 January 2008.
Twenty of the twenty-four swimmers all qualified for the schools finals for either one or two swims. During the three sessions, there were several personal best swims across all year groups.
Outstanding performer of the day was David Morgan S2 who won the 13-14 year 200 metres butterfly in a Scottish School and National age group record time.
Not to be outdone by the junior swimmers, Cheryl Bond S5 took double gold in the 17-19 years 100 metres and 200 metres butterfly including a Scottish Schools record in the 200 metres.
Special congratulations go to both S1 girls, Rachael Clark and Kirsten McKinley, who narrowly missed out on a medal swimming a year out of age. Hopefully their performances can be turned into medals when the girls swim in age next year.
All swimmers showed a great team spirit which allowed them to remain relaxed and produce some great swims whilst having fun poolside. Not to mention looking great in their new pool kit.
